Colour your world
Graphic design services encompass a wide range of creative tasks, from conceptualizing ideas to bringing them to life visually. Here’s an overview of what’s typically involved in graphic design services from concept to creation:
Understanding the Brief: The process often begins with a client briefing the designer on their requirements, goals, target audience, and any specific preferences they have. Understanding the client’s needs is crucial for delivering a successful design.
Research and Inspiration: After understanding the brief, the designer conducts research to gather inspiration, understand the industry trends, and study competitors. This helps in creating a design that stands out and effectively communicates the intended message.
Conceptualization: Based on the brief and research, the designer begins brainstorming ideas and conceptualizing various design approaches. This stage involves sketching, mind mapping, or creating mood boards to explore different visual directions.
Drafting and Prototyping: Once the initial concepts are developed, the designer starts creating rough drafts or prototypes using design software. These drafts serve as the foundation for the final design and allow for feedback and revisions.
Feedback and Revision: The client reviews the drafts and provides feedback. The designer incorporates the feedback into the design, making necessary revisions to improve its effectiveness and align with the client’s vision.
Refinement and Finalization: After multiple rounds of feedback and revisions, the design is refined further to ensure it meets all requirements and achieves the desired outcome. This stage involves fine-tuning details, typography, color schemes, and layout.
Production and Implementation: Once the design is finalized, it is prepared for production, whether it’s for print or digital media. This may involve preparing print-ready files, optimizing graphics for web use, or collaborating with developers for digital implementation.
Delivery and Support: The final design files are delivered to the client along with any necessary guidelines or instructions for usage. The designer may also provide ongoing support, such as assistance with implementation or additional design services as needed.
Throughout the process, effective communication between the client and designer is essential to ensure that the final design meets expectations and achieves its intended purpose. From concept to creation, graphic design services involve creativity, strategic thinking, and attention to detail to deliver visually compelling and impactful designs.

Your LOGO
Your Logo is the face of your business, be it on your website, your shop front, delivery vehicles, business cards, letterheads or brochures. Your Logo is the keystone of your Brand Identity.
A Logo does not have to show what a company does. It can be conceptual, abstract or symbolic and still be memorable. Some very well known examples are Apple, Nike, Shell and Twitter, to name but a few.
A logo can be symbolic or a depiction of something that either represents your industry or something more sentimental in nature.
Another trend that seems to be making a come-back is the use of monograms, or letter-marks. Classic, Simple and translate well on most mediums. They don’t have to be boring or literal either. Look at LG!
Logos essentially fall into seven categories: emblems, pictorial marks, logotypes, letter-marks, abstract logos, mascot logos, and combination logos.
A simple, unique design is more effective for companies that want to become household names. Ornate fonts are rarely used as the base for a full logo as viewers tend to lose focus.
When we design logos for clients, we take these key factors into consideration:
Clean lines and simple fonts [typefaces] and if possible, a limited use of text or gradient shading. Gradients do not work well on printed media.
Effective as a single colour
A logo that has been designed to be effective in both black, white or a single colour, is essential for printed ads, branded packaging or on promotional material that offers little space for the full logo.
Hi-Resolution & Scalability
When DigiZen creates your Logo, we do so using hi-resolution, scalable images. Your Logo should be of a quality that does not pixelate, whether you’re using it on business cards or shop front signage.
Digital images are made up of pixels . The term “pixel” is actually short for “Picture Element.” These small dots are what make up the images on computer or flat-screens. You ll see them referred to as e.g. 500px by 500px.
PIXEL DIMENSIONS are the horizontal and vertical measurements of an image expressed in pixels. The pixel dimensions may be determined by multiplying both the width and the height by the dpi.
In short, your Logo needs to be . . .
Simple – Your logo needs to be easily identifiable at a glance.
Memorable – An effective logo should be memorable.
Timeless – An effective logo should be timeless and should avoid trends.
Versatile – A good logo can be used in a variety of sizes and colours.
Brand Design & Strategy
It is essential to develop your brand identity before you have your website designed. Your website is an extension of your brand, not visa versa.
We advise doing a little research first. Look at what the top companies in your industry have used to create their brand. We are in no way suggesting that you copy or plagerise, but you can ‘steal with your eyes’ and look at what works in terms of the colour choices they’ve used and how they’re woven this into their logo.
Colour choice is really important, but objectively, almost anything goes these days, depending on the market you’re aiming at. Your choice of colour scheme is one of the most important elements that add credibility to your brand and this will translate to your website.
There are however a few factors worth considering before making a final decision.
- Identify your target market! This could be related to age, gender, generation, income, occupation, location, lifestyle, what’s trending and so many more factors.
- Is your colour scheme going to be attractive to your target market?
- Is it memorable and eye catching, without being garish?
- Does it reflect your brand identity and business industry?
- How well will your colour scheme translate in a digital environment?
- Will it work well on your website and social media? Certain colours, like yellow for example, rarely work well on a screen, unless they’re on a black background.
- Is your colour scheme economical? Look at the viability and costs involved should you wish to print business cards or have staff/client t-shirts branded. Metallic colours for example, seldom look the same in printed media as they do in a digital environment.
